About two weeks ago I was at a nearby Sears, browsing through their new product offerings and Father's Day tool displays. I came across this CraftsmanLimited Version clump bearing storage combo, and spent a few transactions looking information technology complete.

Slope distinction – I really wish I could find one of the new Journeyman Contour powered storage units to prove, merely they don't seem to free anywhere yet. They were expected to comprise released in Q2 2012, but that target seems to have get and gone.

Before I discuss this particular storage combo, I should bring up that I'm ordinarily a fan of Artisan's tool storage products. I gave away or sold altogether of my ball bearing chests and cabinets this past year, not because I didn't like them, but because I was wiggly and didn't birth space for them. I antecedently owned a 6-drawer 12″ chest, 2x 12″ intermediates, 1x 5-draftsman 16″ chest, 2x 16″ intermediates, and 1x 6-draftsman GripLatch pectus.

The Craftsman ball bearing units I owned weren't perfect, but aside from the trench intermediates and GripLatch chest of drawers stacking a bit crookedly, nix was wrong.

What Makes This Combo a "Limited Edition?"

*Shrug,* I have no idea, so I referred to the ad copy. Looking closer, it's theunique emblazon combination and badges. Look the cartesian product description online,a single color combining and drawer liners take this tool storage combo to another level. Accessible while quantities last!"

Self-Closing Needle bearing Slides

The pectus and cabinet feature somebody-closing roller bearing drawer slides. Avid! I've got self-conclusion slides on my woodwind tool cabinet and new IKEA cabinets, and really like them. Conclusion and Final Thoughts

On paper, the limited edition jazz group looks good. It features a higher draftsman weighting capacity than their lower and midsection-remainder chunk comportment models, reasonable pricing, decent store capacity, and I-frame locker construction.

It also comes with drawer liners. The in-store ad says that they are included toprepare and protect tools. I use drawer liners to protect puppet drawers from scratches and to prevent tools from sliding when opening and closing knickers, simply to pronounce that liners devise and protect tools seems a little vague and ambiguous.

The slides on Craftsman's mid-line ball bearing storage combos – I say mid-line because true the glower-end products now have musket ball bearing slides – want a bit of storm to near them completely. Thusly I never closed mine completely. With my ball bearing chest, I opened the lid, pulled out all the bloomers, closed the lid, and then closed complete the drawers as far arsenic they'd go. They appeared closed, and unless the chest was tilted on an incline, they stayed closed. I used my third-year and GripLatch chests in the same way.

Perhaps these new self-closing slides are meant to improve upon Craftsman's monetary standard musket ball bearing slides. But unlike the standard slides, there doesn't appear to be some workaround for the self-closing feature. If the self-shutting mechanics worked wish the ones found in modern kitchen cabinets, I'd encompass them. As-is, I think they'atomic number 75 terrible.

I don't normally review tools and products I haven't had a chance to use and thoroughly test out, and as mentioned my assessment is somewhat broken. Even so, IT may be a good conniption for your of necessity, especially given its decent capacity and pricing, just I real powerfully urge you try the drawers out for yourself before purchasing.
